Driver Age Restrictions

The minimum driving age to rent a vehicle is 21 and the maximum age limit is 65

Drivers aged from 21 to 24 incur a surcharge of 16.95 USD per day to a maximum charge of 565.00 USD
Drivers aged from 60 to 65 incur a surcharge of 16.95 USD per day to a maximum charge of 565.00 USD
Drivers aged from 25 to 59 incur a surcharge of .00 USD

Driving Licence

Drivers must present a full valid national licence at time of rental and must have held the licence for a minimum period of 1 year. Drivers Aged 21 to 65 must have held a Full Driving Licence for Aminimum of 1 Years to Rent a vehicle, International driver licence is required if the drivers licence is not written in the Latin alphabet.

Only the Renter is permitted to drive the vehicle. It is illegal to allow anyone else to drive the vehicle and your insurance will become void

RoadSide Assistance / Mechanical Breakdown Cover

Roadside assistance Breakdown Cover due to driver negligence ie miss fueling driver fault accident flat battery etc is not Included in the Rental Price Quoted but can be purchased at the rental desk at a cost of 4 99 USD per day plus tax

RoadSide Assistance / Breakdown Instruction - Procedures

First thing to do is get it out of the way of traffic. If there’s a hard shoulder or Emergency bay / parking area you can pull into. If there isn’t, pull over off the road as far as you can. - Put the hazard lights on and get everyone out of the car and away from the road, using the doors facing away from the road. - Place the Early warning device (EWD) or triangle at least 50 metres behind your car if it’s safe to do so. - If you believe it’s too dangerous to get out of the car, make sure everyone keeps their seat belts on, put your hazard lights on – and call Right Cars Costa Rica immediately at Tel. +506-40017828

One Way Rentals Are Not permitted

Flight Delay Policy

If we have been given the flight number we will monitor all flights for any delays and keep the car for the customer in opening hours, if customer is delayed and arrives when the branch is closed, they can collect the car the next morning. We will keep the car for them untill midday the next morning. If no flight number has been given, then we will only keep the car for the customer for 2hrs after their booking collection time.

Collection Instructions

Once you are ready to be picked up please call our Costa Rica Customer Service Representative on +506 4001-7828 for a shuttle to the office. Upon arrival, the Right Cars representative will pick you up in the courtesy van, identified with the name Right Cars .
