Fuel And Mileage

Unlimited Mileage is included in the price of your rental The fuel policy at this branch is collect with a full tank of fuel and return with a full tank of fuel. No charges for fuel will be added to your rental costs unless you return the vehicle with less than a full tank of fuel. If you return the vehicle with less than a full tank of, you will be charged for the missing fuel at current pump price plus an admin fee of 10.00 USD plus tax. No Fuel deposit will be taken when you collect the vehicle. No refunds will be given for unused fuel.

Local Taxes

The price quoted includes local tax at the current rate Current Rate of Tax is 18.00 %

Additional Driver

Only the Renter is permitted to drive the vehicle. It is illegal to allow anyone else to drive the vehicle and your insurance will become void

Tyre Insurance

Tyres insurance is not included with the standard insurance. Tyre insurance can be purchased locally at the branch, The cost does vary on the vehicle selected. If for any reason you need to replace a tyre on the vehicle during the rental period you must replace with the same make and model of tyre fitted to the vehicle, otherwise you will be charge upon return

Glass Insurance

Glass insurance is not included in the rental cost but can be purchased at the branch.

Supplemental Liability Insurance

Supplemental Liability Insurance is not included in the price but can be purchased locally at the rental desk. SLI will cover the customer up to 100,000,00. Supplemental Liability Insurance

Third Party Insurance

Third Party Liability insurance is not included in the price quoted but is available to purchase at the rental desk at a cost of 19.99 USD plus tax. No vehicle can be taken for rental without Third Party Liability Cover, the amount covered up to is 10,000.00

Personal Accident Insurance

Personal Accident Insurance is not included in the price but can be purchased at the rental desk

Collision Damage Waiver

Collision Damage Waiver is not included in the costs of the rental. Please note: In common the coverage does not cover damage to windows, tyres, the roof, underside and interior of the vehicle, towing charges or damage caused negligently, willfully or recklessly as well as key, car documents, manual, lighter, wiper blade, cargo cover, tool kit, or registration plates or any parts stolen / missing for the interior and exterior. You have purchased CDW cover with an excess as detailed in the invoice section of this rental agreement

Driver Age Restrictions

The minimum driving age to rent a vehicle is 21 and the maximum age limit is 75
Only the main driver named on the rental agreement is permitted to drive the vehicle. Additional driver coverage may be purchased at the rental desk upon collection of the vehicle
Drivers aged from 21 to 24 incur a surcharge of 17.70 USD per rental day
Drivers aged from 70 to 75 incur a surcharge of 17.70 USD per rental day

Driving Licence

A valid driver’s license is required to drive. It is recommended that the driver has at least one to two years of driving experience since the license was first issued. Customers may use either their local driver’s license from their country of residence or an international driver’s license. Both are accepted without any problem.

Driver Identity

A valid passport is required to rent a vehicle. Depending on the country of origin, travelers are normally given an entry stamp upon arrival in Costa Rica. It is mandatory to present both the valid passport and the entry stamp at the time of rental.

Theft Waiver Insurance

Theft Waiver (TW) is not included in the price quoted and cannot be purchased locally at the rental desk. This Service/Coverage is not offered at the rental desk.

RoadSide Assistance / Breakdown Instruction - Procedures

Turn on the hazard lights and stop the vehicle in a safe place. Do not attempt to repair the vehicle on your own. Immediately call the assistance number of Zezgo Costa Rica: +(506) 4001-7828 / WhatsApp +(506) 7004 9720 Provide your name, contract number, and exact location. Stay inside the vehicle if you are on a busy road and wait for assistance.

Accident Instruction / Procedures

Stay calm and turn on the hazard lights. Do not move the vehicle until the competent authority (Traffic Officer) arrives. Call 911 to report the accident and request the presence of a Traffic Officer and an ambulance if there are injuries. Immediately inform the assistance number of Zezgo Costa Rica: +(506) 4001-7828 / WhatsApp +(506) 7004 9720 Call the insurance company Qualitas to report the event and request that an inspector be sent: 800 800 2880 Do not make private agreements or accept responsibility. Wait for the arrival of the Traffic Officer and request the official accident report, as well as the arrival of the insurance inspector. Take photos of the accident (vehicles, license plates, damages, and the scene). Deliver a copy of the accident report, the inspector’s report, and the photos to Zezgo Costa Rica.

Admin Fee

A standard admin fee of 50 USD plus tax is charged to cover the costs of processing speeding fine, parking tickets, or any other related traffic offences, and any other administration work required.

Cleaning Policy

At Zezgo Rent A Car, every vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before each rental to ensure a clean and comfortable experience for all customers. We understand that light use may result in minor dust on mats, small marks from shoes, or a few disposable items left behind — this is considered normal and does not require extra cleaning. However, if a vehicle is returned in a condition that exceeds normal use, such as with large food or drink spills, strong or unpleasant odors (including from smoking or food), excessive pet hair, heavy mud or sand on seats or carpets, the presence of vomit, bodily fluids, or sticky substances, additional cleaning will be required. All our vehicles are strictly non-smoking, and any evidence of smoking, such as ash, cigarette butts, burns, or smoke odor, will result in a deep cleaning process. Customers are kindly requested to return vehicles in a reasonably clean condition to help us maintain the high standards expected by all renters.

Pets And Service Animals Policy

No pets allowed in the rental vehicles. Should it be found that a customer has had pets in the vehicles a cleaning fee up to 80 USD plus tax will be chargeable.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles rented from Zezgo Rent A Car This includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes, and any other form of smoking or vaporizing device. Our vehicles are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for all customers, and smoking inside the vehicle compromises that standard. Any evidence of smoking — including but not limited to odor, ash, cigarette butts, or burn marks — will result in the vehicle being flagged for deep cleaning. We kindly ask all customers to respect this policy to ensure a pleasant rental experience for everyone. Failure to comply may result in additional cleaning charges as determined by the branch.

Own Insurance

We do accept certain types of external insurance in order for the customer to decline our CDW. However, the customer cannot use their own personal car insurance policy from their home country — this type of coverage is not acceptable and will not be accepted at our location. We do accept valid credit card insurance and/or insurance purchased through a website. In order for us to accept this coverage, the customer must provide written proof of the insurance. In most cases, a digital version on their phone is acceptable as long as it clearly shows the coverage and terms. Personal car insurance policies from the customer’s country of residence are not accepted. Only credit card insurance or online-purchased coverage can be used to decline CDW at our branch. Key Replacement / Lost Document Policy

If a rental vehicle key is lost, the customer will be responsible for the full cost of a replacement key, including any programming or re-coding required. In addition, an administrative fee will be charged to cover the time and resources involved in arranging the replacement. This policy applies to all vehicle types and key formats, including remote fobs and smart keys. We strongly recommend that customers take care to keep keys secure at all times during the rental period.

Lost Document Policy

If a rental vehicles documents are lost , the customer will be responsible for the full cost of a replacement documents. In addition, an administrative fee will be charged to cover the time and resources involved in arranging the replacement.

Unused Days

Please note that any unused rental days are non-refundable. Once the rental period has commenced, no refunds will be issued for early returns or for days not used, regardless of the reason. This policy applies to all bookings and ensures that vehicles reserved for your rental period are not reallocated or rebooked for other customers. We encourage you to plan your rental dates carefully before confirming your reservation.

Late Return Policy

For a Late Returning customer a grace period will be allowed of 60mins from the specified drop off time on the voucher. If you have further delays please inform the branch as soon as possible. Failing to inform the branch and going past the grace period you will be charged at a daily rental charge at the current time and not the booking.

Collection Instructions

Once you have collected your luggage, please exit through the only exit door into the second section of the airport. Our staff will be waiting for you with a sign that says ZEZGO Car Rental. You will be greeted and welcomed by our representative, who will then guide you to the shuttle bus area. The shuttle will take you to our office, located just one mile from the airport. All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions. TL International Group T/A Zezgo Rent A Car do not accept liability for any charges incurred on documentation signed for and accepted locally. TL International Group T/A Zezgo Rent A Car are not to be held responsible for hirer or authorised named drivers found driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or causing wilful damage by driving off road, racing or driving without due care and attention. The hirer will be fully responsible in respect of any claims or costs. Hirer is responsible for the entire amount of the damage without damage excess limitations and all associated costs and legal costs incurred due to such behaviour. This list is not exclusive. TL International Group T/A Zezgo Rent A Car act as an agent / intermediary for the hirer booking on www.zezgo.com and associated websites. Booking confirmation vouchers will be issued to the hirer via email. All transactions are subject to VAT. If VAT invoices are required, these would need to be issued directly by the location servicing the rental once the booking has been serviced, and not by TL International Group T/A Zezgo Rent A Car . When comprehensive insurance is taken out it is to provide the hirer with entitlement to drive and covers the vehicle in the event of an accident. In the case where the hirer is found negligent TL International Group T/A Zezgo Rent A Car and its locations reserve the right to pursue the hirer for the recovery of all losses incurred. TL International Group T/A Zezgo Rent A Car reserve the right to cancel a rental and refuse the service at any time without reason.
