Driver Age Restrictions

The minimum driving age to rent a vehicle is 19 and the maximum age limit is 74

Drivers aged from 19 to 20 incur a surcharge of 44.79 CAD per rental day
Drivers aged from 21 to 24 incur a surcharge of 22.39 CAD per rental day

Driving Licence

"Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S Territories, or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Driver's license which includes a photograph of the customer. The digital license may be accepted as a last resort. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental contract. For international renters, It is important that customers check with ICBC to ensure compliance with licensing laws. The following practices are used to ensure the customer is presenting a facially valid license at the time of rental. You must present the following: Home Country driver's license. If the home country license in a language other than English, an international driver's license will be required. Photocopies of Driver's Licenses are not accepted. Learner's Permit is not accepted. Any License which on its face restricts the licensee to the use and operation of the vehicle equipped with a form of a breathalyzer apparatus is not accepted. Temporary Driver's Licenses may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customer's identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional Government-issued identification will be required.

Driver Identity

The customer must bring a valid full drivers license, no temporary licenses will be accepted and Passport or Identification card. International customers must present passport. Local Customer will have to bring a ICBC drivers abstract along with other documents. A valid credit card in the name of the main driver must be provided at the time of the rental.

Unlimited Mileage

The price quoted includes Unlimited Mileage, Please note that this is subject to our fair usage policy which defines a limit of 200 miles/Km per day, miles/Km over 200 miles/Km a day will be chargeable at the current local rate

Fuel Policy

"Right Cars fuel policy at this branch is collect with a like for like, no charges, or deposits, for fuel will be added to the rental costs at the time of collection. If customer returns the vehicle with less fuel, then we will charge the customer for the fuel at current pump prices plus an admin fee of 50 CAD plus tax."

Admin Fee

If the vehicle receives traffic violations/parking tickets/toll charges during the rental period, you will be responsible for full payment of the fine as well as a 50 CAD plus tax Service charge. This includes but is not restricted to parking offenses, speeding fines, traffic signal offenses, toll road offenses and etc. The renter agrees to reimburse West Coast Car Rental the fees of any collection agency, which may be based on a percentage at a maximum of 50% of the debt, and all costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, West Coast Car Rental incur in such collections efforts.

Cleaning Policy

At Right Cars Global Rentals, every vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before each rental to ensure a clean and comfortable experience for all customers. We understand that light use may result in minor dust on mats, small marks from shoes, or a few disposable items left behind — this is considered normal and does not require extra cleaning. However, if a vehicle is returned in a condition that exceeds normal use, such as with large food or drink spills, strong or unpleasant odors (including from smoking or food), excessive pet hair, heavy mud or sand on seats or carpets, the presence of vomit, bodily fluids, or sticky substances, additional cleaning will be required. All our vehicles are strictly non-smoking, and any evidence of smoking, such as ash, cigarette butts, burns, or smoke odor, will result in a deep cleaning process. While pets are welcome, vehicles must be returned free from pet-related mess, including hair, dirt, or odors. Customers are kindly requested to return vehicles in a reasonably clean condition to help us maintain the high standards expected by all renters.

Pets And Service Animals Policy

We maintain strictly a smoke and pet free fleet. Smoking of any kind (cigarette, cigar, pipe, marijuana, etc.) or pets is strictly prohibited in our rental vehicles. You will be assessed a cleaning fee of 500 CAD plus tax, depending on the severity if the vehicle is returned smelling of any kind of smoke or is littered with ashes, pet’s hair, and excess dirt.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles rented from Right Cars Global Rentals. This includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigarettes, vapes, and any other form of smoking or vaporizing device. Our vehicles are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and comfort for all customers, and smoking inside the vehicle compromises that standard. Any evidence of smoking — including but not limited to odor, ash, cigarette butts, or burn marks — will result in the vehicle being flagged for deep cleaning. We kindly ask all customers to respect this policy to ensure a pleasant rental experience for everyone. Failure to comply may result in additional cleaning charges as determined by the branch.

Flight Delay Policy

If we have be given the flight number we will monitor all flights for any delays and keep the car for the customer in opening hours, if customers is delayed and arrives when the branch is closed, they can collect the car the next morning, we will keep the car for them until midday the next morning. If no flight number has been given and the customer has not contacted us at the branch, then we will only keep the car for the customer for 2 hrs after their booking collection time.

Key Replacement / Lost Document Policy

If a rental vehicle key is lost, the customer will be responsible for the full cost of a replacement key, including any programming or re-coding required. In addition, an administrative fee will be charged to cover the time and resources involved in arranging the replacement. This policy applies to all vehicle types and key formats, including remote fobs and smart keys. We strongly recommend that customers take care to keep keys secure at all times during the rental period.

Unused Days

Please note that any unused rental days are non-refundable. Once the rental period has commenced, no refunds will be issued for early returns or for days not used, regardless of the reason. This policy applies to all bookings and ensures that vehicles reserved for your rental period are not reallocated or rebooked for other customers. We encourage you to plan your rental dates carefully before confirming your reservation.

Late Return Policy

For a Late Returning customer a grace period will be allowed of 60mins from the specified drop off time on the voucher. If you have further delays please inform the branch as soon as possible. Failing to inform the branch and going past the grace period you will be charged at a daily rental charge at the current time and not the booking.

Collection Instructions

Thank you for selecting Right Cars . When you arrive at YVR and have collected your luggage, please head to the courtesy shuttle pick up in the level 3 departures area. Once at the pick up area please call us at 1 778-385-5551 or 1 604-689-1231, so we can have our shuttle service pick you up. We kindly ask you to look for a shuttle bus with the Right Cars logo on.

General Details

All costs derived from the use of the incorrect and/or lack of petrol are not included. Right Cars is not to be held liable for items stolen, forgotten or lost inside the vehicle. It is recommended that the customers have these items covered through personal travel insurance. The loss of the vehicle documents is not covered. Damages or costs deriving from customers loading the car with more than the stated capacity or taking vehicles “off-road” (unpaved roads) will be the customer’s responsibility. No insurance will cover customers driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and/or found using their mobile phone at the time of an accident. The vehicles displayed and models listed are the most common vehicles used by our car rental partners. We cannot guarantee the make/model or traction of the rental vehicle will be the same as the vehicle displayed on our website.
